Bareilly Air Force Station or Bareilly AFS is also called as Trishul airbase is located at Izzatnagar which is one of the remote areas of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. The Bareilly Airport is strictly used for military purposes and does not entertain Public flight. It handles only those government flights which belong to high officials and are there for urgent reasons. The airport has a long association with the Indian Air Force and has provided valuable service to the army.
The Bareilly Airport comes under the supervision of Central Air Command and holds the honour of being one of the largest and oldest airports in India which is still well maintained. The airport has state of the art aircraft like the helicopter squadrons and the Sukhois. It also has Fox bats which can fly high very high approx 80,000 feet.
It is equipped with one of the largest underground Hangar in the entire Asian Continent. The Jat regiment of Indian Army are mostly settled in Bareilly and it is also their headquarter. Not only this it is also the headquarter of Indo-Tibetan Border Security Force and Police.
